For Honor Wiki

What is For Honor

For Honor is a new IP from Ubisoft Montreal and other Ubisoft studio’s in which players fight as either a Samurai, Viking or Knight against each other or against AI enemies in the (co-op) campaign. For Honor sets it self apart because of the Art of Battle control system, where players can pick one of 3 ways to attack their opponent. Left, right or above. If the other player is blocking the side that the other player is attacking, then the attack will be paried. By playing more For Honor you get a better understand of the system and gain levels and new equipment for your character.

Multiplayer

The For Honor multiplayer will feature 5 different modes for up to 8 players: Dominion, Skirmish, Elimination, Brawl and Duel. Learn more about the different modes through the link. For Honor will feature a ton of different maps influenced by the different races. The maps are small, also depending on the modes, so that you will always have someone to fight against or with. To give the multiplayer a bigger scale, the game will feature AI¬†controlled enemies that you can compare with minions from MOBA’s. You kill them instantly, but they will have an influence on the gameplay, because you can use them to distract other players or kill an opponent with the help of the minions.

Campaign

For Honor will feature a campaign mode that you play in single player and in co-op online or via split screen. In the campaign you will play different heroes from the different faction while storming the castles of the other factions. In The Gamescom demo you see above, the Vikings attack the Samurai. During the level you will encounter different enemies from the different classes and have to kill them using your weapon or the environment. At the end of the level we see the boss that you have fight one versus one and can reward you unique weapons. The goal of the campaign is to slay the merciless and bloodthirsty warlord, Apollyon.

Heroes

The art of battle system is the same for every For Honor class, but the difference classes do add more depth to the gameplay. Every faction has 4 classes all in one of the 4 catogories: Vanguards, Assassin‚Äôs, Heavies and hybrids. Where the Heavies will do strong but slow attacks, the assassin’s are fastester and more mobile. All the classes are further customizable with different skills and looks, while it should always be clear what you are fighting against. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of different classes is the key to victory.

Progression

Every hero has it’s own progression bar that fills by playing the game. After playing a multiplayer game you get experience. If you level up you earn new Feats (passive and active skills) and new customization options. You also earn loot at the end of the match like gear (weapons and armor).
